UPDATE:
From Jan 2026 we'll be switching to the third SATURDAY of every month. Hope lots of you will still be able to join us!
~
*IMPORTANT* - READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING!
**This is not a lesson** It's a relaxed group horse ride through the woods.
~
Each pony is led by a trained instructor.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their child while they ride but this isn't required unless the child is aged 4 or under. Children aged 4 or under must have a parent walk alongside them ensuring that they're holding on to the saddle at all times.
~
** PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 15 MIN BEFORE THE START OF YOUR SESSION **
The time shown on the booking is the time that the ride will begin and you will need time to fit helmets and mount horses. Any late comers will be left behind!
~
Riders need to wear long trousers such as leggings or jogging bottoms (no skirts or shorts) and closed shoes (boots, wellies or trainers).
~
All riders will be required to wear a helmet which will be provided. It is very close fitting so any children with long hair should have it tied in a low ponytail so it’s not in the way.
~
Those walking on the track will need to wear wellies or boots as the track can be very muddy and you will end up stepping in horse poo! In winter the track gets very muddy and is unsuitable for pushchairs.
~
Those bringing small children along with them will need to carry them during the ride or put them in a pushchair to ensure they're kept well away from the horses.
~
There’s a small car park with free parking. In the spring & summer we have use of the picnic area after our session so bring along a packed lunch and hang about afterwards!
~
Bookings aren’t confirmed until payment is received and spaces are filled on a first come first served basis.
~
Cancellations - Once the group payment has been sent to the stables it won't be possible for me to issue a refund.
If you're unable to attend, you can offer up your space in the Home Ed Hive WhatsApp group chat for someone else to buy. You will need to arrange payment between yourselves and let me know who has taken the space. If it is within 24 hours of the session you'll have to ensure that the rider taking the place is the same size as your child as the ponies will have already been allocated and it will be too late to swap for a different sized pony.

*Please be aware that horse riding is a dangerous sport. You choose to partake in the activity at your own risk.*
Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child is paying attention during the safety briefing at the start and for ensuring that their child follows the safety rules throughout.
Children remain the responsibility of their parents at all times and must be supervised by them, particularly during the grooming & feeding.
Parents must walk alongside riders aged under 4 to ensure they're always holding the saddle.
Children must hold the saddle WITH BOTH HANDS at all times while riding.
When grooming and feeding children must ensure they avoid gong near the horses bottoms.
