By attending you're agreeing to the ground rules below (please read).
~
BY ATTENDING, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Supervision: Children are the responsibility of the adult who brings them to the group, and they must be supervised at all times. Parents are expected to remain close to their child/ren when they are around the fire pit. Adults must not leave the premises unless they have asked a specific adult to take on the responsibility of their child/ren.
2. Clearing up: Everyone is asked to respect that the group is run on an entirely voluntary basis. All attendees are expected to contribute by taking responsibility for clearing up after themselves and to also help with clearing up after the group as a whole. At the end of each session please make sure to put away/wash/dry up any equipment you or your children may have used.
Please ensure that no rubbish is left in the outdoor play area, particularly marshmallow skewers and rubbish around the basketball court.
3. Staying Safe: No one is to intentionally hurt, (either physically or verbally), bully or intimidate another person. Please ensure your children know that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in any way. If your child hurts or upsets someone, please work with your children and others involved to solve the issue in an amicable way. No play fighting or wrestling allowed.
4. Fire Pit: The fire will be supervised by an adult at all times for general fire safety.
However, your children remain YOUR responsibility therefore please ensure that they behave responsibly around the fire at all times. Please remind your children to be careful with the hot marshmallows as they can cause burns and to dispose of the used skewers in the fire or in the bin. UPDATE: After repeated complaints from management we're now on our final warning. If any skewers are found anywhere on the premises after our sessions we won't be allowed to use the fire pit anymore. Marshmallows are to be consumed around the fire pit only. Please stay close by and ensure your children follow this rule so we can continue enjoying the fire pit.
5. Payment: By attending everyone is agreeing to pay the set fee of £5 per family. All money collected is used to cover rent, insurance premium, and weekly supplies for the art room, games room, fire pit and tea box.
6. Art room: Only use the materials provided and please don't touch anything in the cupboards (they belong to other groups). We are conscious of our environmental impact and ask that resources are used considerately and aren't wasted. Please make sure that your child/ren don't make a mess, particularly with the paint.
7. Board games: All games and puzzles must be signed out and returned with all the pieces in the box. It is the responsibility of the person who signed it out to ensure that it is returned complete with all its pieces.
8. Soft play room: Children ARE NOT allowed to climb on top of the play frame, not only is this dangerous but it also damages the netting and will result in us no longer being allowed access to the room. No shoes to be worn in the soft play frame and no food or drink allowed inside.
9. Entry & exit: Everyone is to sign in on arrival – this is extremely important as it is a fire list. All doors and gates to the outside are kept locked at all times. Under no circumstances is the green door release to be used, if you need to leave you must come and find me so I can let you out. The green door release button disables the lock mechanism on ALL the doors which could result in children leaving the premises without our knowledge.
10. Discrimination: Everyone is reminded that the families in the group come from many different backgrounds and we must show tolerance of each other’s lifestyles and values. Discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, sex, age or abilities will not be tolerated.
11. Photos: Many parents do not consent to photos being taken of their children, if taking photos of your own child/ren please ensure that no one else is in the photo.
12. Privacy: No one is to give any third party a list of attendees at the group or divulge the identities of any individuals who attend or volunteers who run the group.
13. Tea box: We have a selection of hot drinks available in the staff room which you are welcome to enjoy. Only lidded mugs are allowed outside the staff room so don’t forget to bring one along. Make sure you wash everything you’ve used and return to our tea box.
14. No smoking or vaping at all on the premises.
15. The wooden play furniture and play house in the corner of the hall is not allowed to be used. This belongs to the children's centre and they won't allow us to use the hall if any of that equipment is touched.
No buggies to be left in the corridors and no scooters in the building.

We had a Pop Up Market on Wednesday 26th of Feb!
This was our 3rd Pop Up Market at The Log Cabin and it was even more successful than we'd hoped!
The children sold lots of handmade and pre-loved items and all profits went to various charities that the children selected themselves.
Kids from our BeeHive group had a stall and made a total of £372. Across all the stalls a whopping £1,327 was made!

We had an amazing turn out last year at Northala Fields and hope this one will be even better!
Following on from the success of last year's Pop Up Market we hosted another one on the 5th of June!
This time the focus was on things that the kids made themselves with no (or very little) help.
They sold a variety of things such as homemade bakes, jewellery, candles, paper crafts, t-shirts, badges, bath bombs, key rings, samosas, kebabs, pastries, tea blends, bookmarks and so much more!
Huge well done to everyone who took part, we're hoping to have another one in Winter so look out for more details.
We had coaches Emmanuel & Paddy from Sports Play Motion join us on Wednesday 17th of April for a free multi-sports trial session!
The kids were split into two groups and enjoyed 90 mins of fun and energising team games.
There was so much interest that they came back weekly for the remainder of the term at a cost of only £2 per child.
If there's enough demand they'll be happy to return fortnightly next term, let us know in the group chat if you're interested!
On the 6th of March we had a workshop where children were able to design and make their own badges using a badge press!
The workshop was lead by the lovely Ameera who has donated all the proceeds to Gaza.
We raised an amazing total of... £242.50!!

On Wednesday the 15th of Nov we had an Emergency First Aid Awareness Workshop led by a trainer from St John Ambulance.
The kids learnt life saving skills and how to approach to an emergency situation.
It was such a hit that we plan to run a second workshop in spring where the kids will learn some more hands on skills such as recovery position and abdominal thrusts.
We have certificates for those who attended the workshop, let me know if you'd like one.
Look out for updates on the next workshop in the WhatsApp group chat!
Our first ever Pop Up Market at The Log Cabin was a huge success and we made a total of £1,040.50
What's even better is that a third of it will be donated to charity!
We're so proud of how well all the kids did! They sold handmade crafts, homemade bakes, books & toys and did an amazing job managing their stalls.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the people who came to support them (despite the heavy rain)
We're planning our next one on the 5th of June so look out closer to the time if you'd like to book a stall!
On Wednesday 5th of July 2023 we threw a summer party to mark the end of our first year of running The Log Cabin!
It was a fun filled day with lots of entertainment for all the family and a wonderful way to celebrate our amazing Log Cabin community!
The kids enjoyed pony rides, exotic animal encounters, bouncy castles, face painting and henna and had an absolute blast.
Over the past year we've seen our Log Cabin community blossom into a tight knit group of families, kids and parents alike have formed friendships for life which gives us even more reason to celebrate!
This year we're planning an event that will be even bigger and better! It'll be around end of July so keep a look out for updates in the coming weeks!
